Greetings everyone, if you are new to the game and want to buy your own paddle, please do not go out and buy some cheap paddle at a local store. You will soon outgrow it and be very unhappy. You can get a good paddle for intermediate play and beyond for less than $100. You will want a paddle that is 16 mm thick for touch and control, with a large sweet spot, is reasonably light with a rectangular shape. Go for a longer handle if you want to use two hands for a backhand shot and look at grip sizes. If you are prone to tennis elbow you may want a lighter paddle but you will sacrifice some power.
